Photographer Morgan Johnston, Moments by Morgan, recently created a beautifully heartfelt maternity session at Little White Photo Studio in Frederick, Colorado–one that she’s been eagerly waiting to share.

After the recent, joyful welcoming of their baby boy, the time has come to share the images from this beautiful maternity session. The photographs are a study in intimate light and gentle emotion, perfectly reflecting the quiet, hopeful wait for the child. These images finally complete the story, celebrating the journey to parenthood.

This session is a beautiful example of how the right photographer, the right subjects, and the right studio space can transform a quiet moment in time into something timeless.

A Studio Designed for Comfort, Calm, and Natural Beauty

One of the reasons Morgan loves photographing at Little White Photo Studio is the way it instantly feels welcoming. The studio’s soft atmosphere-bright natural light, clean tones, and versatile furnishings-makes it easy for expecting mothers to relax and simply be.

During this session, the large windows washed the space in a warm, airy glow, giving every image a serene and ethereal quality. Morgan often describes natural light as her “favorite collaborator,” and here it worked beautifully, wrapping the mother-to-be in a softness that highlighted her quiet joy and anticipation.

The studio’s curated pieces-including the cozy daybed, textured rug, minimalist seating, bassinet, and neutral-toned props-added subtle depth without distracting from the authenticity of the moment. Whether Morgan wanted a scene that felt open and light or something more intimate and cozy, the studio shifted effortlessly to match her vision.

This ability to adapt–to feel clean and minimal in one frame, nursery-inspired in the next–is part of what makes Little White Photo Studio such a favorite among photographers. For Moments by Morgan, it gave her the perfect environment to build a story around emotion, connection, and the gentle beauty of motherhood.

A Session Filled With Heartfelt Emotion

From the moment the session began, Morgan focused less on posing and more on genuine interaction. The result? Portraits that feel warm, honest, and wonderfully human.

Soft neutral elements–like the woven bassinet and simple textiles–helped create a calm, baby-ready atmosphere without overwhelming the simplicity of the space. Morgan’s approach was subtle and thoughtful: gentle adjustments, small prompts, and a quiet focus on capturing the mother-to-be’s authentic presence.

In one of the most memorable moments, the mother rested comfortably on the daybed while the light filtered across her, creating a glow that made the entire image feel peaceful and timeless. These unhurried moments perfectly captured the emotional transition into motherhood-the excitement, the tenderness, the anticipation of a new life soon to arrive.
